Okay, so I officially have the best friends in the whole wide world, and I lovelovelove my presents, and I have been outside my house for basically every waking moment for the last 2 weeks.
This is brilliant. I love life. I love you guys. Ahh!

...my parents haven't fully worked up the energy to truly deal with me yet, as I've been coming home too late. That too, is great.

I NEED A NEW HEATING PAD.
The end.

Thursday, September 20, 2007

I have a cat in a box and it's soooo freaking cool.
Granted, it's a skeleton of a cat, and there's definitely a few people that are grossed out/sincerely disturbed by it, but I find him adorable. I have to study and memorize his bone structure for my class - Comparative Vertebrate Anatomy. Suchhh an intense class, blergh. A lot of work. But heck, the cat definitely makes up for it. And we were REQUIRED to bring it back to home (dorm room, I suppose) to study it, heh. I'm just so psyched. The bio-dork wins out for me every time, whoops.

Overall, life here is... amazing, times a million. I've become really close with a bunch of people really quickly, and it's just... so comfortable, you know? Like, they click. Good stuff. Me & Noel rampaged around campus modeling for each other for our photography club portfolios, Steve and I vent on each other, I can always count on David & Jackie & Ray for anything from knowing the best place to party tonight to a hug to just watching my back in general, my roommate Julia is a total sweetheart (though we aren't really friends, per se), Mucci and the girls always make me laugh, Amanda's just my kind of person, Alex is always there to lean on, odd philosophical & intellectual conversations from Pat & Mike... haha, I talked with Mike from midnight to 7AM while procrastinating for his bio project and my paper.
And as for nightlife, hahaha. Our floor is ridiculous. We go out for frats and stuff all the time, but it's not really like most of us get really drunk or something, which is really nice. I end up taking care of a some people (tonight was awful with that regard, and I feel really bad for the janitor...) but I don't drink myself and it's always sorta amusing to talk to someone clearly drunk (not so fun when they're stoned, though. Bleh). And I genuinely enjoy taking care of people anyhow, so whatever. Monica brought me chocolate covered strawberries for helping out last night, hehe. Wheee strawberries!

Horseback riding here has been really fun, the team here is excellenttttt. Or at least it seems that way so far, hehe. The horses are SO much better then Watchung's, no psychos that seriously try to kill humans.  And the dance classes are really interesting, my muscle memory sucks majorly but it's alright.

And nowwww, to get myself down to the mailroom to pick something up. Whee!

I'm not really sure how to say this properly, or put into words how many amazing times I've been having here, but...

Lafayette is completely kickass.

My floor has been completely wonderful - we're sorta like how close our grade at Magnet was in the senior lounge, except a different type of dorky, no copying, and stuff like that. Everyone here's actually learning and stuff, which makes me super excited. Everyone's a hell of a lot more athletic then me, haha.. everyone plays sports or we'll all wander onto the quad to play whiffle ball after lunch, or we'll sit and watch movies together, some really sweet stuff. We've come up with silly hand signals and crap cause we're all hyper and psycho, it's incredible. We created and bought a million T-shirts for our floor - South College to the Fourth Tower. xP
Oh, and we have dance parties in Steven & Colin's room almost nightly, to amazing music, haha. It's fun dancing in your PJs to the oldies with some hip hop thrown in and some techno. They dubbed their room "Club Electorwerkz", hahaha, and now we have Manic Monday, Techno Tuesday, Wild Wednesday, Thumpin' Thursday, Funky Friday, Sexy Saturday, and Super Sunday. On the nights that we aren't really partying, everyone sits in the lounge with their laptops and stuff, hehe.

The classes here are fairly decent as well - really, what I expected. Lecture as usual is boring, and classes are relatively small... but you know what makes life all perfect? I don't have a SINGLE class before 10 AM. That just sealed the deal, really.

And the parties around here are good too. There's always something to do, and we've been party hopping a lot cause well... a lot of them are really sketchy, obviously, but whatever.

Oh, and I actually used and studied in the library. Me. Studied. I'm damn proud. xD
Their library is gorgeousssss. They have one that's like the one in Beauty and the Beast, the classical gorgeous dark wood library with shelves to the ceiling and sliding ladders. The other is this giant monstrosity - I could really live in there. Heck, the whole school could probably live in there, we have few enough people. They have spinny shelves though - they MOVE. It's absolutely mesmerizing.
And hehe, Lafayette spirit is ridiculously strong. I'm really starting to like sporting events. We totally tromped Marist, 49 to 10 in football. Sweeeeet.

I dunno. I like this place. People know how to have fun without getting drunk out of their minds. They know how to relax and kick back on the weekends, and how balance studying and exercising with partying it up randomly. They know how to have fun. I'm so relieved.

Though, I must say, I miss puppy & friends a lot, bleh. Visit me, rawr. Or write! I want people's addresses - I'll tradeeee.

And I'm off.

The past couple of days have been exceptionally nice. I must have blown a goood amount of cash by now, spending at least 20 each night for the past couple of days, perhaps a week and a half or so, going out for dinner and movie near daily. Or oooh, gelatos and ice creams and desserts of all sorts. Stupid funny movies, like Superbad, which I still have some lines of stuck in my head. xD
It's good stuff, especially when you're seeing everyone for perhaps the last time until at the very soonest for the majority of them at Christmas or Thanksgiving.

But today, today really hit me the hardest. Summed everything up perfectly.
We were in Ryan's car as usual driving back from Chili's, me and Sam and Chris and obviously him, and Queen was blasting... Don't Stop Me Now. Still have it stuck in my head.

Tonight I'm gonna have myself a real good time
I feel alive and the world I'll turn it inside out - yeah
And floating around in ecstasy
So don't stop me now don't stop me
'Cause I'm having a good time having a good time

I'm a shooting star leaping through the sky
Like a tiger defying the laws of gravity
I'm a racing car passing by like Lady Godiva
I'm gonna go go go
There's no stopping me

I'm burnin' through the sky yeah
Two hundred degrees
That's why they call me Mister Fahrenheit
I'm trav'ling at the speed of light
I wanna make a supersonic man out of you

Don't stop me now I'm having such a good time
I'm having a ball
Don't stop me now
If you wanna have a good time just give me a call
Don't stop me now ('Cause I'm having a good time)
Don't stop me now (Yes I'm havin' a good time)
I don't want to stop at all

Yeah, I'm a rocket ship on my way to Mars
On a collision course
I am a satellite I'm out of control
I am a sex machine ready to reload
Like an atom bomb about to
Oh oh oh oh oh explode

I'm burnin' through the sky yeah
Two hundred degrees
That's why they call me Mister Fahrenheit
I'm trav'ling at the speed of light
I wanna make a supersonic woman of you

Don't stop me don't stop me
Don't stop me hey hey hey
Don't stop me don't stop me
Ooh ooh ooh, I like it
Don't stop me don't stop me
Have a good time good time
Don't stop me don't stop me ah
Oh yeah
Alright

Oh, I'm burnin' through the sky yeah
Two hundred degrees
That's why they call me Mister Fahrenheit
I'm trav'ling at the speed of light
I wanna make a supersonic man out of you

Don't stop me now I'm having such a good time
I'm having a ball
Don't stop me now
If you wanna have a good time (wooh)
Just give me a call (alright)
Don't stop me now ('Cause I'm having a good time - yeah yeah)
Don't stop me now (Yes I'm havin' a good time)
I don't want to stop at all
La da da da daah
Da da da haa
Ha da da ha ha haaa
Ha da daa ha da da aaa
Ooh ooh ooh

It was perfect. Chris turned around and danced along with his piercing blue eyes staring into mine, and Sam started doing that happy flirty smirkish grin of hers, and I'm sitting there smilinglike a goon, and Ryan's banging on his wheel, and we're all singing along without a care in the world.

It's something about us all being ridiculously close, cause geez, what other school has nearly the entire grade comfortable with piling on top of each other and slapping awkward body parts and stuff like that? Sharing desserts with fingers and double dipping and staring into other people's eyes at point blank without feeling uncomfortable at all. Making silly comments and playing asstag and practically fondling each other at any given moment. Running across rooms to glomp people and burrowing in other people's beds and taking really odd candid photos of anything and everything.

That's what this summer was about. Sums it up perfectly, for me at least. This was nice. Wish I got more sleep, but haha, whatever, nothing's changed about that, sadly.

Leaving for Lafayette tomorrow morning at 6am. I'll see you guys around. None of this bittersweet crap for me, or at least, I'll ignore it for now. Haha.
